Valentino open edits brand new four-story flagship store at 821 Madison Avenue, between 68th and 69th Streets, in the former location of Loro Piana. The label is setting up its first-ever townhouse shop where its bevy of ready-to-wear beauties will pose alongside plush accessories and haute couture in a splendid space of four floors, the topmost being reserved (almost in a symbolic show) exclusively for VIPs.
According to Valentino’s CEO, Stefano Sassi, the Madison Avenue outpost will attract the brand’s local and “most affluent customer,” whereas the upcoming Fifth Avenue store in the Takashimaya Building.
Creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli beckoned British architect David Chipperfield for a collaboration on the shop’s design concept. Elegant black-and-white windowpane flooring injects comfort and intimacy into its atmosphere. The coterie of commodities charmingly spreads over the four levels of the boutique.
