English model, actress and singer Leslie Twiggy Lawson, widely known as Twiggy, turns 64 today.
In the 60es sthe Londoner became the most famous British teenage model, known for her doe-eyes, androgynous look and short hair. She was named “The Face of 1966” by the Daily Express and voted British Woman of the Year. By 1967, Twiggy had modelled in France, Japan and the U.S. and been the cover girl for Vogue and The Tatler. After modelling, Twiggy went on to enjoy a successful career as screen, stage and television actress. She is still active now: among many achievements, last year she designed a womenswear collection for Marks& Spencer, thus remaining in the forefront of fashion for women of her age.
