Abandoned Silos Transformed Into a Climbing Gym

Siloo O, it’s the name. The project involves creating a climbing gym on the basis of one of the abandoned silos on the island Zeeburgereiland in the city of Amsterdam.

Similar to the Denmark Water Tower Renovation the Silo Project as proposed by NL Architects involves taking two of the towers and extending their roofs up 18 meters to the maxium height the towers could support.

On the ground level is a public cafe, connected to the climbing tower. The top level will be dedicated to a restaurant with 360 views and a roof terrace.

Inside tower A would be a 40-metre-high climbing atrium with various cantilevers, wall-facets, and overhangs— all posing a challenge to climbers.

Tower B would house a rooftop restaurant, office space, a salon, music studio, and a cinema.
