The beautiful and talented Adele made a rare public appearance today on the red carpet at Buckingham Palace, where she collected her MBE Award—a Member of the Order of the British Empire Award, given to those who’ve made “significant achievement or outstanding service to the community”—from Prince Charles.
For the formal occasion, Adele chose this stunning wool-blend dress from British designer Stella McCartney—it’s an elegant navy number that’s embroidered with a blue and green flower and leaf motif.
“It was an honour to be recognized and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people,” the singer said in a press conference afterwards. “Very posh indeed.”
It’s no secret that here at Glamour HQ, we are huge Adele fangirls. Not only does she kill us with her gorgeous, melancholy music, but she always looks phenomenal on the red carpet.
This Stella McCartney dress, though, I’m especially obsessed with—because it ticks every box on my checklist of hallmarks and characteristics I look for in flattering frocks. By that, I mean it’s:
· Not too long, not too short
· Fit-and-flare, for that perfect hourglass, curvy look
It think that this is a look that a woman can put on an instantly feel comfortable—like even though she’s wearing something beautiful and well-made, she is the center of attention, not her clothes, you know what I mean? Plus, the fact that it comes from Stella McCartney and is animal-friendly, that’s a bonus!
