STELLA JEAN will be back in Florence showing the Homme collection in the Pitti Uomo Pitti Italics program
Now, for Pitti Uomo 85, Italian-Haitian designer, Stella Jean will be back in Florence, as one of the Pitti Italics, to present her new men’s collection. Stella Jean Homme, that made its debut at Pitti Uomo in June 2013, comes in the wake of the “Wax & Stripes Philosophy” – a strong cultural syncretism between the distant peoples and western traditions – will be featured in a fashion show-event to be held on Thursday, 9 January 2014.
Pitti Italics, is the Pitti Immagine program that promotes and supports the new generations of fashion designers who design and manufacture in Italy and also have great international appeal.
“We are following Stella Jean’s career, how her collections evolve in a continuously changing melting pot of craft skill and cosmopolitanism and how they vehicle an aesthetic and social concept, with great interest”, says Lapo Cianchi, Pitti Immagine director of communications and events. “And, after her June debut and international success, once again we are happy to offer her the Pitti Uomo stage and audience to present her style and creative concepts. They spring from a heterogeneous mixture – like the tailored Italian striped shirt and African tribal prints – an expression of the multiculturalism we feel so strongly today”.
“It is thanks to determined and vital organization such as Pitti”, says Stella Jean, “that the desire for a new Italian Renaissance – riding on the wave of the great tradition of artistic patronage – is becoming ever stronger.”
