Mad Men fans have watched Sally Draper grow up into a stylish, precocious, and, dare we say, a tad (or very) jaded teenager, just as we fashion-obsessives have followed her off-screen alter ego, Kiernan Shipka, evolve on the red carpet in just a few short years.
The young thesp possesses a stellar sense of style way beyond her 14 (14!) years and rocks the perfect mix of top-notch taste, sophistication, and a youthful (read age-appropriate) sense of fun. While we must say goodbye to Sally Draper after this final season, we’re sure there’s lots more to expect from Kiernan, both on-screen and on the red carpet. In the meantime, we’ll just have to crown her with the Glamour Style Icon of the Week honor. You know, as incentive. Let’s take a look:
Last year, Kiernan graced the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet in this beautifully embroidered (and totally age-appropriate) blush pink Oscar de la Renta dress.
The young actress put herself on the style map (and caught the attention of editors everywhere) when she wore a ripped-from-the-runway spring 2014 Delpozo dress at the 2013 Emmy Awards. I really, really love this.
For the British Fashion Council and Stylebop party, Kiernan opted for a prism-print top and jagged hemline skirt by Preen. Youthfully edgy and pretty at the same time.
At the Tory Burch Rodeo Drive opening, Kiernan wore a ’70s-inspired peplum top and pants set and made it look chic, modern, and not the least bit retro costumey or frumpy.
For the Elle Women in Television party, the teen went tropical in a crystal-embellished dress from the Prada resort 2014 collection.
Methinks Delpozo just needs to make Kiernan the face of the label. She opted for this sculptural, somewhat editorial frock from the spring 2014 collection for the Costume Designers Guild Awards and totally nailed it.
For the launch of Choo.08, Kiernan wore the perfect spring dress from the Preen pre-fall 2014 collection with a pair of Jimmy Choo blocked pumps.
To celebrate the final season of Mad Men, Kiernan looked flawless in a jacquard Nina Ricci dress from the fall 2014 collection. I’m about to sound like a broken record, but…again, elegant, refined, but still totally fresh and modern.
And over the weekend, Kiernan nailed it again in this pre-fall 2014 Prabal Gurung dress that mixes feathering, pleating, and beading without looking overdone at all. Perfect, per usual.
