GUERRA E PAZ: PAITINGS BY THE BRAZILIAN CANDIDO PORTINARI SHINING IN A EXHIBITION IN PARIS

The crowd that had gathered in front of one of the most important cultural centers of the world, the “Grand Palais” on the last day may 6th, was of people to honor the opening of the exhibition of one the biggest names in Brazilian art, the painter Candido Portinari.

Exhibition entitled “Guerra e Paz” (War and Peace) brings panels of approximately 14×10 meters and more than five thousand works presented on a big screen in nine hours of uninterrupted projection.

One of his greatest paintings was the panel ” Guerra e Paz” (War and Peace) it was a gift to the UN headquarters in New York in 1956, after much effort of his son the panel returned to Brazil for an exhibition in Rio de Janeiro.

For lovers of Brazilian culture is worth checking this exhibition which runs until June 09!

Candido Portinari was the biggest Brazilian painter, was born in 1903 and died in 1962.
