Considering that Chrissy Teigen made a name for herself through a hot, hot Sports Illustrated modeling career, it’s a no-brainer that thoughts of her just conjure up feelings of summer fun and sun. But we also love Chrissy for her playful, self-deprecating sense of humor (seriously, you have to follow her on Instagram), her carefree attitude (like shoes, who needs shoes?), and her sheer adorableness alongside hubby John Legend. Plus, she always makes a statement on the red carpet—whether she’s taking a massive fashion risk (underwear dress?) or channeling ladylike glamour. And because you all clearly love her so much, we just have to crown Chrissy as the Glamour Style Icon of the Week. Let’s celebrate in theme with her most summer-perfect red carpet moments!
At last year’s NFL Honors, Chrissy showed some Sports Illustrated cover-approved leg in an architectural cocktail dress by Givenchy. The only thing…Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin, showed up at the awards in the exact same dress. Awkward. Hey, it happens sometimes—just ask Kate Middleton.
At a City Harvest event honoring chef Marc Murphy, Chrissy wore an asymmetrical blazer dress in a summer white. Or at least we think it’s a dress and not a suit blazer worn sans matching pants. Doesn’t matter though since she totally nailed it.
For the black tie White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2013, Chrissy went for an embellished one-shouldered Kaufman Franco gown. Turns out, this dazzling dress was actually her backup since she suffered a broken zipper debacle with her first choice right before the event. Lesson learned: Always have a fabulous plan B prepared, just in case.
Guess John wasn’t available to accompany Chrissy to accept her trophy at the Benefit Cosmetics They’re REAL-volutionary Awards. (Just kidding, of course he was there.) And she looked lovely in a floral Vera Wang jacquard cocktail frock.
At a pre-Grammys event this year, Chrissy wore two of summer’s hottest trends in one outfit by Adeam: a dressy crop top and allover white down to her capped Gianvito Rossi pumps.
She just looked divine at the Academy Awards in a strapless, floral, and rise-fall-hem ball gown by Monique Lhuillier.
Chrissy’s pink fit-and-flare cocktail dress by Ulyana Sergeenko rides the fine line between flirty and playful but not overly girly. The delicate embroidered flowers and satin-covered buttons are thoughtful details.
Many of you were fans of Chrissy in this sunny little yellow dress by Three Floor, so here you go again. You’re welcome.
