As much as the style world obsesses over Cara Delevingne, she surprisingly doesn’t give many interviews, explaining why I jumped to read a story The Guardian just did on her. With her TV acting debut (in the U.K. series Playhouse Presents) right around the corner, the paper got her talking about style and her career, and it was fairly fascinating, especially since we don’t often get so much access into Cara-world.
She has a uniform.
When it comes to her personal style, she doesn’t seem to get what the fuss is all about. “I always wear the same frigging things. Jeans and leather jacket and a beanie and some trainers,” she told the paper. “Even at school, some people were always like, ‘Oh, you can’t wear the same outfit twice in a week,’ or whatever, and I was like, ‘What? It’s just clothes.’ It really is just clothes.”
She’s always wanted to act.
Acting was always her goal, with her revealing that modeling was a gig taken on only to pay for drama school (she says her parents stopped supporting her financially at 16, though she does still live with them). Her Burberry connection was arguably what really made her name become known worldwide and that came about when Christopher Bailey found her working part-time in the ASOS office (woo-boo, ASOS!).
There’s a Kate Middleton connection!
More fashion connections I found fascinating? Besides the outfit-envy older sister Poppy causes in me every time she steps out (we can talk about that gorgeous second wedding dress again if you want), her mother is a personal shopper, and The Guardian said Kate Middleton is a rumored client.
