With the swirl of red carpets this weekend, I’m beginning to seriously think celebrities never get a weekend off to just hang in their sweats at home. Between the Daytime Emmy Awards, the closing of the Shanghai Film Festival, and a few other events that brought out the glam, there were a lot of stunning dresses to take in. My favorites?
Nicola Peltz, one of the latest beauties from The Transformers franchise, who picked this bright white Giambattista Valli couture number with the bold peplum. Talk about a stunning silhouette.
I’m a sucker for polka dots, especially done formal, and I loved this formal Sherri Hill skirt with the lacy crop top that Chrishell Stause picked for the Daytime Emmys. Looks like she’s taking a cue from Monique Lhuillier’s crop tops for evening style advice.
Giuliana Rancic was also there and looked phenomenal, IMO, in this sleek white dress with a heavy dose of embellishment up top.
Elsewhere in Hollywood, Kristen Chenoweth did a lacy white gown that could totally inspire brides everywhere.
Just as pretty, but probably not quite right for walking down the aisle, is this sparkly white illusion dress Chinese actress Zhang Lanxin picked for the Shanghai Film Festival.
Bright daffodil yellow will stand out on any red carpet, and I loved this bold Stephane Rolland couture selection from Chinese actress Li Bingbing. That cascading ruffle juxtaposed against the not-hiding-it view of her briefs? Intriguing!
Back at the Emmys, I loved the cherry red color and lace paneling of Kelli Goss’s dress. It’s super flattering on her figure and the sort of dress that’s easy to imagine working in your own life at a formal engagement.
I still remember falling for this Alberta Ferretti dress when it came down the spring 2014 runways, and on Amelia Heinle, it didn’t disappoint. How girly (yet bold!), with the orange and the blossoms.
Jessica Alba brought out the glamour too for a stop at the Magnum Butterfly Awards in Turkey. I love the gold hue of this Romona Keveza dress on her and that retro train that just sort of explodes? Awesome.
