Last weekend I visitied the 13th edition of Sieraad Art Fair (SAF) in Amsterdam. This fair is the most international one yet and the only platform in the Netherlands where proffessional contemporary jewellery designers from home and abroad sell their work directly in person.
This is a must for all those interested in jewellery.
I saw a lot of very beautiful and surprising designs. The designs of the participating artists ranges from the traditional precious materials to the experimental and unconventional.
During my journey through the fair, this Italian designer caught my attention:
With now almost twenty years of experience, Silvia Beccaria designs and creates contemporary jewelry inspired by historical ruffs, sculpture-dresses and tapestries. Her creations have been included in many permanent Fiber Art collections and showcased in numerous art exhibitions, in Italy and abroad. Silvia Beccaria is using materials like pvc, rubber, plastic, latex, polyurethane and so on.
Her work inspired me to make a few sketches. These colourful artistic necklaces turns a simple outfit into something very special!
