Campaign News: Prada’s Got a Familiar Face, Saint Laurent Is Feeling the ’60s

Even though it’s freezing in my neck of the woods, spring campaigns are rolling out and they’re bringing with them the promise of a warmer tomorrow. Prada is like the kid who got cozy with an ex over the holidays—it’s using a gorgeous Gemma Ward as its star, not a mega surprise since she made a much-buzzed-about appearance on the brand’s spring ’15 runway. It was that overall return that was the biggest surprise, since she’d first been connected with Prada an astonishing 10 years ago (she was 17 then). In between, she took time off from modeling and pursued other passions, including acting where she scored a role in one of the Pirates of the Caribbean flicks. Welcome back, beauty!

There’s been something so perfectly rock-star about Saint Laurent’s past few collections, and it’s becoming clear the fashion house is cycling through the musical decades. For spring, the campaign has a major ’60s mood, and even the quickest look will have brand fans go from wanting to channel Marianne Faithfull to needing nothing more than a lounge at Woodstock.
