BESHOES SYMPOSIUM & BESPOKE NIGHT IN FLORENCE

Yesterday Wednesday 14 January, to coincide with Pitti Uomo 87, there’s  been a special event bringing some of the best cobblers from around the world to Florence for a symposium on footwear, ranging from ready-to-wear to bespoke. The city will also hosted a BeSpoke Night based on cordiality and complementariness between international production excellences.

BeShoes was the result of the conviction that, in the market niche we have chosen, the meaning of the word competition has shifted. Our clients know the products, they display cutting-edge style, appreciate uniqueness and are an active part of research into original expressions of taste. They have totally embraced the concept of the shopping experience”, we are told by Tommaso Melani, CEO of Stefano Bemer, a Florentine shoemaker brand that has gained international fame thanks to the quality and ”tailoring” exclusiveness of its footwear, “which goes way beyond the product itself, and from this point of view, our ideas in terms of style, but not only, must be put at the disposal of the client to broaden our horizons and stimulate imagination and desire, in a logic of collaboration”.

Stefano Berner has therefore decided to open the doors of its workshop in Via San Niccolò to some of the best international cobblers for a symposium on the state and future of footwear, from ready-to-wear and bespoke. Brands taking part at the event together with Stefano Bemer include: Cleverly, Foster&Son, Gaziano&Girling, Corthay, Norman Vilalta, Freccia Bestetti and Saint Crispin. The symposium will be chaired and moderated by Simon Crompton, journalist from the Financial Times and author of the London blog Permanent Style.

Rounding out the symposium, a BeSpoke Night in Florence with tailors, perfumers, watchmakers and vine-growers plus cars, accessories, food… in a logic of complementary products. Hosted against the wonderful backdrop of Villa Cora, where the cordiality of experience will be the leitmotiv.
