How To Care For Patent Leather Shoes

Patent leather shoes just scream SPRING! So obviously, we’re all over them. Style them with a flirty mid-length skirt, like above, or pair them with a pair of cropped menswear trousers or boyfriend jeans. So adorable, right?

But you’ve got to be sure to care for them. While it might seem so, patent leather is NOT waterproof. It’s actually a coated leather, so don’t wear them in those spring showers that are imminent.

To care for them take a clean cloth and rub them with just a small amount of mineral oil or petroleum jelly. Be sure to treat the entire shoe, not just the scuff, so the finish remains evenly shiny. Just how we like it!
