Spring is so close it’s crazy, and as such, it’s completely time to start shopping for the season. Even though we Northeastern ladies haven’t stored the snow boots yet (sigh), there’s a happy comfort in knowing that, yes, before long sandal weather will have arrived. I’ve been browsing and buying for at least a month, and I’m sharing a lot of the pieces I’ve already bought with you guys right here. It’s everything I want to update my closet, and tallied together, it comes out to under $450.
A suede skirt.
I got my heart set on a soft suede A-line skirt and hunted one down. It’s part of this season’s big ’70s trend, and I plan on wearing mine with sneakers on the weekend and oxfords in the office. I smell a future MVP, guys.

A military-inspired jacket.
Sharp army blazers feel especially right to me for spring, and I’m into them in both navy and olive green. To look for: epaulets, twisted braiding on the sleeves, and shiny gold buttons. Disclosure: I’ve already bought and received this piece from Zara and have gotten so many compliments!

I’ve had my eye on these J.Crew babies for a while. and there’s a good chance I’ll have pulled the trigger by the time you’re reading this story. I love a no-fuss sandal, and these have an elegance missing from my current lineup (I’m still planning on rocking Birkenstocks this spring but admit that their clunkiness precludes them from being worn with ladylike dresses).

A chunky gold cuff.
This mega statement bracelet has been on my wish list for years, truly, and I think it’s finally time to give into the urge. I don’t like how thin bangles shift around my wrists, but this is a totally different story.

So, I’ve been flirting with the bodysuit for a while, and after I saw this style in Kim Kardashian’s eBay auction (true story), I realized it was brilliant. The problem I’ve had with making them work before is that they’re full-bottom, making for unseemly lines when they’re tucked into 99 percent of the jean and skirts I own. Now that I’m aware of a thong style that will look like a sleek tank? I’m copying Kim.

These beauties are from designer Misha Nonoo’s collaboration with Aldo Rise, and they walked the runway in her spring 2015 show. The moment I saw them, I flagged a little mental note to keep my eyes open for when they hit stores, and it’s happened (er, almost—you can buy on March 16). I plan on wearing with cropped jeans, dresses, and, yup, my suede skirt.
