J.Crew Is Taking Paris by Storm! How Chic French Girls Are Styling Looks From the Brand

For me, few brands ring out as all-American as J.Crew, but trust: That doesn’t mean I’m not willing and ready to be inspired by how chicsters in Europe style the brand. To celebrate the recent store opening of its first-ever Paris outpost, the brand connected with some Parisian tastemakers to see how they’d wear some of the brand’s best spring offerings.

Shade, a singer and designer, embraced grassy green in a pair of J.Crew Collection high-waisted leather pants (that gorgeous blouse is one of her creations).

I love how this spring and summer has a lot of denim jackets on offer that aren’t exactly denim jackets (or not the classic cut we’re used to). This is J.Crew’s version—it’s called a workwear jacket and will be available to shop in June. Art director and style consultant Lolita used it to top off a creamy blouse and off-white jeans.

And because what’s a Parisian style story without a striped shirt, here’s model and actress Jeanne doing it with the exact mix of je ne sais quoi that American girls have been trying to copy forever. The takeaways I’ll be trying? Tuck it into high-waisted jeans, grab your sharpest blazer, and finish with pointy-toe pumps. Though, on that last note, I’ll totally swap in equally French-girl ballet flats for day-to-day wearing.
