The news that Marc by Marc Jacobs was shuttering was a tough pill to swallow. After all, the secondary line launched by fashion’s enfant terrible—and the first to bring grunge to the runway in the ’90s—was the only way many of us could afford a piece created by the famed designer. According to WWD, the collection is being folded into the larger Marc Jacobs brand, so time will tell if we’ll still have access to the wit, whimsy, and irreverence that Marc by Marc Jacobs has brought us since its inception in 2001.
