During this past Fashion Week, Avery was the first one to officially bring it up at the office: Um, where’s Cara Delevingne? She was conspicuously absent from the catwalks, appearing only at Chanel’s chic brasserie, and my suggestion that acting was claiming too much of her schedule has legs now. Her focus is shifting away from modeling, guys.
“Modeling I love, but acting is my passion. I think modeling kind of chose me; it’s never what I expected. I always wanted to be an actress,” she told Ross King on the British morning show Lorraine. She revealed her acting skills have always bled into her fashion work, talking about sets filled with goofy antics, dancing, and foreign accents. “Everything works better if people are having fun.”
I still find it hard to believe that Cara and her gorgeous brows could go unrecognized in any major metropolitan city, but she insists it happens in NYC and that she loves the freedom it provides. “When I was in New York, I’d go walk through Times Square and just walk around. People always double take; they look at me and go, ‘Do I know you from school?’ Or they say, ‘Oh, you look like that girl.'”
