Chanel started off its morning with all kinds of news. There was the whole bringing-Salzburg-to-NYC thing but also some business: The company will be diving into the world of e-commerce come 2016! The site currently sells beauty products online, but no leather goods, bags, or apparel.
“It’s an evolution to better serve our customers,” Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel’s president of fashion, told WWD. “Some of the customers are able to come into the boutique. Sometimes they don’t want to because they want to go faster and they know exactly what they want, so it should be able to better respond to the customers’ requests. So it’s more e-service than a pure e-commerce approach.”
Details are sparse, but it sounds like nothing will happen until the end of next year. That might seem like forever-far away, but here’s the golden lining: All the more time to start saving. See the absolute favorites I’d swipe my credit card for in a dream world.
