It’s Official: People in France Could Go to Jail For Using Too-Thin Models

France is taking a stand against too-thin models, passing a measure through its parliament this morning that will respond to any agencies using super-skinny women with punishments including hefty fines or up to six months of jail time, WWD reported.

“The activity of model is banned for any person whose body mass index (BMI) is lower than levels proposed by health authorities and decreed by the ministers of health and labor,” the bill, part of the country’s health system overhaul, read.
