Let’s be real: for a long time, there’s been one shining style star in the British monarchy. Kate Middleton totally deserves all those style accolades, but I’m happy someone’s nipping at her heels with some serious stye chops (especially since once the Duchess delivers her second babe—who’s totally going to be a boy, FYI—we won’t see her out a ton). Let’s all reacquaint ourselves with Princess Beatrice, daughter of Prince Andrew and Fergie, because her style has been majorly impressing me lately.
The look that first made me take notice? Her Easter ensemble, made up of a bright blue dress covered up by a navy blazer with the most heavenly fit I’ve ever seen (those peaked shoulders! the waistline!).
This funky dress, picked for a fashion event, mixes various shades from the same color palette, prints, and even some different finishes with the type of verve fashion editors employ.
My absolute favorite dress might be this one! With the strong silhouette and sweet little contrasting collar, it totally looks like something a girl who likes to experiment would pick.
Princess Beatrice’s red-carpet style is pretty darn impressive too. For a dinner celebrating the opening of an Alexander McQueen exhibit in London, she vamped it up in a tuxedo-style gown with the sort of plunging neckline and high leg slit the world would freak out over on Kate.
Even as ecstatic as I am to never see another winter coat for months, I couldn’t help but be drawn to this snap of her strolling. The color blocking with various shades of blue is unique, making a basic coat feel special. Plus, love that she finished with sleek ankle booties instead of pumps.
