Kithe Brewster is a thoroughly modern couturier and cool, conceptual whiz kid. Known for his virtuoso cutting skills and nuanced silhouettes, he transforms pieces of classic tailoring into elegant and unusual womenswear. Beautiful garments with volume and structure in bold colors. Looking at the collection Fall 2015, the color palette is mostly dark, featuring black, shimmering gold and added pops of vibrant blue and canary yellow (for instance: the yellow belt in combination with the blue, i love it). Brewster favored silks – faille, chiffon and brocade – but also dabbled in lambskin and lace. From draped dresses to tailored jackets, most pieces could be worn several ways, such as a dress that zipped apart into a cape or a boyfriend jacket flipped around and belted as a minidress. I love this multifunctionality.
Kithe has had a prestigious career in fashion working as the personal stylist for A-list celebrities such as Julianne Moore, Natalie Portman, Diane Lane, Kate Beckinsale and Heidi Klum among others. He also has an extensive background as a fashion director working for numerous publications in Europe, Japan and around the world.
Brewster works as a fashion consultant and stylist for many designers, and has styled runway shows for fashion houses all over the world, amongst them Ralph Lauren. Within the world of fashion, Kithe Brewster’s name has become synonymous with fearless creativity. He is continuously scaling new heights and whatever the challenge, Kithe’s independent vision and design sense drives him to succeed and sets him apart from the others.
