Tonight marks the 15th anniversary of the BET Awards and as expected, this year’s red carpet did not disappoint. Zendaya, Natouri Naughton, Tracee Ellis Ross, and others arrived for one of music’s biggest nights ready to turn up and show off their style chops. See our picks for the best-dressed celebrities of the evening then vote for who you think killed it on the red carpet.
Russell Wilson and Ciara won our votes for Best-Dressed Couple of the evening sporting an all-black outfit and textured gray slip dress, respectively.
Power star Naturi Naughton wore a number created by 18-year old designer Kyemah McEntyre. You may remember McEntyre as the bullied teen who made her own prom dress, which basically broke the internet because it was so stunning.
Zendaya showed off her more playful side in a glittery button-down dress and matching ankle strap pumps. “There’s body suits and all sorts of stuff under this,” the actress said when asked how she’d avoid a wardrobe malfunction.
LeToya Luckett rocked an asymmetrical hemline dress with a thigh-high slit for her turn on the red carpet. The sleek look was equal parts sexy and sophisticated.
Gabrielle Union proved (yet again) that she does not age, wearing a black sequin gown with cutouts at the waist.
Host Tracee Ellis Ross also chose a white dress for the pre-show festivities. Bold gold cuffs and earrings, plus white pumps completed just one of Ross’ many outfits.
Laverne Cox went with a navy jumpsuit with a plunging neckline. The OITNB actress highlighted her décolletage with a gold body-chain and finished the look with studded black heels.
Janellle Monae went beyond her signature black-and-white color palette opting for a black mini dress and a black cape with an aubergine lining.
