There are downsides to being a much-in-demand supermodel. It may look glamorous from an outsider’s perspective, but as we know, it isn’t easy. Models often have to travel at the drop of a hat, which, at the very least, can be downright annoying.
One model who knows this plight all to well? Kate Moss. Over the years, Moss has figured out her way around packing on the fly.
When faced with a short turnaround from house to airport gate, Moss goes for a formula she knows works for her. “Black jeans, gray jeans, T-shirts, a jacket, and a dress for nighttime,” she told the Daily Express. “Some flats, one pair of heels, and some sunglasses.” Also in her bag: a cashmere blanket and a prepacked bag of beauty essentials (travel-size items that never get unpacked so she can head out the door as fast as possible.)
Copy the top model’s general approach next time you’re about to travel: Think about your most favorite pieces to wear—the ones that feel 100 percent like you—then pack those. Moss’s picks are all neutral enough that mixing and matching while she’s away is a total breeze. Unless you know your vacation won’t be the same without that crazy bold piece that only matches with a single item, leave it at home.
