Rademakers Gallery presents the latest work by Jimmy Nelson

Rademakers Gallery in Amsterdam presents from 5 October to 5 November a.s. the latest work by Jimmy Nelson. With ‘ÓNLY NEW’, the British-Dutch photographer shows colorful portraits of indigenous peoples that he made for his new book, launched in the fall of 2018.

Since 2016, Jimmy Nelson has made seven new trips. This is the beginning of a second book for which he wants to visit 35 unique peoples. From the Khanh reindeer hunters in northern Siberia to the Pataxo in the deep Amazon and Laylap jungle in Bhutan to the Mundari in South Sudan isolated. Jimmy will not only photograph the peoples, but also film and interviews to celebrate their cultural heritage.

Jimmy Nelson has been traveling the world for nearly eight years to photograph the most remote places of peoples in their pure beauty and cultural appearance. He wants to capture what threatens to disappear. With the project and book ‘Before They Pass Away’, the photographer wants to leave not only a visual reference for future generations, but also the people he has photographed to realize how important their culture is.

Jimmy Nelson (1967) has photographed for thirty years. Since 1997, he has also commissioned and photographs unique cultures with a traditional fifty-year-old record camera. With ‘Before They Pass Away’, the photographer exposes the photographer worldwide in museums and galleries. In addition, his work has been published in more than 1,000 magazines.
