PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO 10-15 JUNE 2018 FLORENCE ITALY

Pitti Immagine Uomo, the premier international trade fair dedicated to menswear and contemporary lifestyles, will be held in Florence from 12 to 15 June 2018. The always-evolving event is ready to anticipate and represent the latest fashion movements via a vast range of projects. This edition boasts 1,240 brands, 561 of which hail from abroad (45%), and is a curated geography of spaces focusing on venues that emphasize research in today’s menswear and that are heavily geared towards the future of fashion. There are projects that interpret the outdoor universe in an original way, redefining lifestyle concepts linked to athleisure and giving space to Makers from all over the world. There is the new wave of talent from Northern Europe and the creative scene from Eastern Europe, forward-looking styles marked by cutting-edge design. And one must not overlook the excellence of the new classic labels and brands relaunching modern sportswear. All this is combined with the unique hospitality provided by Pitti Immagine.

Highlights

Ermenegildo Zegna – Beachwear takes the stage at the independent space, the Cortile del Teatrino, and uses an experimental presentation format;
_ this year the Polveriera will be hosting SEASE – SEA as in the sea, EASE as in to free, release oneself –  the brand from Giacomo and Franco Loro Piana. The menswear brand is aimed at people who cannot separate their passions. Natural fibers become high performance fibers for active wear, sartorial classicality evolves into contemporary informality;
Paul&Shark presents Nick Wooster X Paul&Shark, the new collaboration with Nick Wooster, a capsule collection that illustrates the Italian brand seen and interpreted by the eclectic American designer;
_ the debut of the new line from Iceberg, ICE PLAY, linked to the world of street couture, is presented in an independent space;
Rossignol presents its SS19 collection inspired by the theme of mobility, from the mountains to the city. The collection consists of two lines: Urban Mobility, designed by Damir Doma and inspired by the world of e-mountain bikes, and Mountain Mobility, for the active mountain lifestyle.
_ Basicnet group presents its brands – K-Way, Sebago and Superga – inside a unique area in the Ghiaia Pavilion; its Kappa brand will show at the monumental Corridoio dell’Arco venue;
La Martina chooses Pitti Uomo and an exclusive setting inside the Ghiaia Pavilion to present its new course. A stylistic evolution that is an expression of modern living and the new urban culture which is increasingly influencing the world of the Millennials;
Band of Outsiders will stage its first presentation as part of the official Pitti Uomo schedule, within The Fortezza da Basso. The presentation will mark Design Director Angelo van Mol and Brand Director Daniel Hettmann’s 4th collection for the label and showcase a collection inspired by a school trip to Italy, with a series of collaborations including Italian sportswear cult label Sergio Tacchini and British eyewear brand Kirk Originals;
_ on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Candiani Denim, a special colab is born between Atelier & Repairs and the renowned Italian textile company; the A&R x Candiani Denim/ Series 001 capsule, launched globally at Pitti Uomo, will be composed by a series of garments using Re-Gen Candiani fabric, a 100% sustainable denim;
_ T-Michael – the designer and artist known for the bespoke quality and innovation of his creations – presents “5 Curators/ one space”, a visual storytelling project in which five fashion insiders – Gerold Brenner, Tom Stubbs, Harris Elliott, Noriaki Moriguchi and T-Michael – release their creative energy and their passion for classic menswear by illustrating the stylistic ability of a selection of brands/designers: 419 Collective, Garnison, Norwegian Rain, Riedizione, T-Michael, Uru Tokyo, and Y.& Sons.
Philippe Model Paris chooses Pitti Uomo to showcase its new running project through an exclusive installation at the Fortezza. An innovative project mixing creativity, Parisian heritage and Italian know-how.
_ the feisty universe of Norton Clothing, with its biker passion, installs itself in a space at Magazzino 02;
Il Bisonte presents its new course within a site-specific installation in the garden of Villa Vittoria designed by the eclectic Felice Limosani.
