There’s no denying that collaborations have become the tastiest PB&J of the fashion world. Kanye West for A.P.C., Rag & Bone for Oakley, and the most recent I’m personally excited for—Mary Katrantzou candles for Rodial—design tag-teaming is so ubiquitous that we’ve devoted entire posts to our faves. But, let’s be honest, as discerning shoppers, it’s hard toreallyget our heads to turn nowadays. Well, here’s one for the books, friends! Toms shoes built its street cred for thinking outside the box with Blake Mycoskie’s buy a pair, give a pair business model, but now they’re putting frequent collaborator and artist Tyler Ramsey inside one! Setting the world record for the longest Google Hangout in history, he’s living inside the Venice flagship 24-7, for six days straight—all for the sake of customizing shoes just for you!
I stopped by Venice late last night, and sure enough, he was still there, painting away. And even though he’s only technically taking orders from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M., Ramsey agreed to craft a pair just for Glamour. You can get your own personalized kicks (and sunglass cases) by stopping by the Abbot Kinney outpost or by calling 855-704-3889, but if you just want some TGIF fun, watch him in action online here. Oh, and if you’re curious (I was!), he is allowed bathroom breaks, but otherwise he’s confined to the space. How’s that for some sole power?
